Modern and Classical Sequence Finals 2005/06

Match Report

This may be rather late in the day but the Nationwide Modern Sequence and Old Time Finals (28th - 31st Oct) can't slip by without at least a small mention.

I only made it to the first day - junior old time and senior sequence- but from a spectator's point of view it proved to be a really enjoyable event. With rather fewer competitors than the April finals there was a slightly more relaxed atmosphere though the competition was no less fierce, and the whole day had the added bonus that it ran to time.

Wright Rhythm's photographer in training, Kieran, had hung up his dance shoes and was rivalling the best of the paparazzi. Was that 400 plus photos that I heard he had taken? (Note to editor - any chance that we can see some of them?).

On the dance floor Pete and Bec kept up the high standards of the school, Pete returning home with two winning performances. OK so he did have only one rival but this had the added bonus that he and Bec had the floor practically to themselves and were able to show off their skills to the full. It was great to watch - well maybe I am a little biased - and they looked as if they were enjoying every minute of it. The audience certainly were.

With no other Wright Rhythm competitors I was forced to cheer on friends from the North, I know, I know, this is not ideal so maybe next year we'll see some more of you there. I'm looking forward to that.
