So, Wright Rhythm travel back to the Rivoli ballroom, Another year, Another chance. The last three of four weeks for the Wright Rhythm dancers, and parents, has been intense, competition after competition after competition. The school arrived with extremely high spirits, due to the success of the previous competitions and as always, the Rivoli comp was an enjoyable day, With Mark on the mic (although a bit loud), raising the spirits of the dancers and spectators with his attempts at getting people to clap and cheer for their favourite couple.
The standard at the Rivoli ballroom is always exceptionally high, with many open competitors taking to the floor. Wright Rhythm, ofcourse, raised our standard as a whole, So for everyone who danced, a very very well done, you did Wright Rhythm proud as always.
So the morning started with the ballroom. Strong frames and quick feet from all competitors, it seemed it was going to be a very hard day. Unfortunately Jemma and I didnt get there until around 11 o clock, But as I arrived I was surpirsed by the standard of dancing from the Wright Rhythm dancers, and especially the support they were getting from the Wright Rhythm supporters. As far as I could see, floor-craft became a bit of a problem, the long narrow floor tries its very hardest to cram all dancers into the same spot, Fortunately, we managed to pull through it, and we saw flying into finals. So before we go onto the latin, We had a demo. The names of the people who did the demo escape me, but what a show. Fantastic ballroom dancers both of them.
And so on to the latin, time to get our own back on the horribly shaped floor. Wright Rhythm of course stormed the floor. Nice to see how our stamina held out, even after the three weeks of compeitions we had just had. Just before the results, we had the extreme pleasure of a demo from Tim Howsen, and Joanne Bolton - Our Top english ballroom couple, If you didn't see the show, You missed out BIG TIME. Ballroom just how it should be done, I can put it into words, other than "simply amazing".
