Nationwide U16 Latin Qualifiers

Get well soon Gilli and Ryan - we miss you!

Match Report

By Peter Normand

Smile!Apologies for the recent interruption to match reports and other website updates, Pete and Bec have been temporarily homeless as they move house which has caused a certain amount of extra chaos.  However, they are now installed in their new flat and, hopefully, life will will return to a more normal amount of chaos in time for Christmas.

In keeping with the current level of chaos I managed to contract a puncture on the way to Haywards Heath for this, the last of the seasons qualifying events and was left with no option but to roll up my sleeves and (for my first time) fit the rather puny spare. I was quite proud of myself for this little feat and I recon with a bit of practice I'll be giving the Ferrari pit team a run for their money.  All in all, however, I was mucky, flustered and only just in time for the first rounds.

With the successes of the Ballroom qualifiers and recent Supadance finals you would expect confidence to be running high for the under 16s team but, never taking anything for granted, nerves were still in evidence and everyone was out to prove themselves. Sadly Gilli and Ryan were ill and greatly missed especially as this would have been Ryan's first qualifying competition. Fortunately Ryan is no quitter and you can bet he'll be back next year and twice as hungry for success - watch out! Without Gilli, the rest of the team had to ensure they were ready and organised to support the extra burden Paula and Mark took on. Of course they were equal to the challenge and it should be noted that no-one was late for their event, there were no panics over dresses or make-up and everything went extremely smoothly - Paula and Mark's relaxed demeanor testament to everyones hard work.
