Match Report
By Peter Normand
Well, the last Supadance Team Match of the season has finished and it's just the excitment of the finals at Camber Sands to come. Last year all the Wright Rhythm teams raised their games for the finals and, with the sucess we've had in this year's team matches, if we can do the same again it's going to be a fantastic weekend
This last match of the season was, to my mind, characterised by the quality of some of the quieter dancers within the school. Three couples particularly caught my eye - firstly Ryan and Jessica who having been put together just the day before went on with Charlie and Nicole to win their team match in such a confident and self assured manner you would think they'd been dancing together for years. Secondly, Chris and Laura, another last minute pairing who proved that sometimes the best ploy is just to relax, enjoy it and let the adjudicators worry about the results which inevitably come out better than might expec. Last but by no means least, Ming and Marion who are developing the style of dancing I love to watch being well grounded, controlled and elegan not too flashy and not always as appreciated as it should be.
Of course there were other excellent performances with Kyle, Alex, Conner and Jemma sharing the honours in the adult team supporting events and vicory for the Juveniles in their team match, but it is the strength in depth that is particularly satisfying to see at Wright Rhythm at the moment, long may it continue.
