Phew, I'd forgotten what a tough weekend Camber is, or maybe I'm just getting old (no cheek from you young Connor or you'll feel the back of my hand)!  With up to six events for every couple and the adults running to past 2am on Friday night this is as much a test of stamina as anything else.  It does, however, make for an excellent warm up for Blackpool in just 5 short weeks with a chance to try out new routines (and in many cases new partnerships) on a big stage.  This year the competition was even more fierce as there were not only the usual open competitors but also a contingent from 'Our friends in the North' as a group from Cadmans dance school came down to join us - it was great to see you all and I hope you enjoyed yourselves.

As usual the entertainment highlight came on Saturday night with the fancy dress six-legged jive, adult &child and team events.  The competition seems to get more intense every year and this year Wright Rhythm were out with the best of them.  Superbly entertaining and hilarious performances from Holly, Ellie and Hannah in the under 16's and Charlie, Carys and Nicole in the under 14's saw them each achieve second places.

The event culminated on Sunday night with the four-dance finals and, for me the performance of the weekend must go to Charlie and Nicole.  They danced their hearts out in their four-dance final and were a joy to watch.  The other couple who deserve special mention are Antony and Laurie - I'm sure they still think of themselves as beginners but 4th place in the over 50's Latin proves that they are fast becoming a force to be reckoned with.  Roll on Blackpool, here come Wright Rhythm...
